Studies show that being in love goes beyond that warm and fuzzy feeling.

The health benefits of love may surprise you – love can keep you healthy mentally, physically, socially and spiritually too.This is good news for people who spend time in loving environments and what’s most important is that it’s not just the physical side from which you can benefit– just being in love is enough.

Professor Jacques Snyman, Clinical Advisor for Resolution Health Medical Scheme highlights why it is important to make room for love in your life.

1.    Love may make you live longer ♥

Since the beginning of time, humans have depended on one another for survival. As social animals we all have biological drives that naturally make us want to find an intimate bond with others. Not finding those connections may result in stress and other factors, which can affect our lifespan.

“Research shows that people in loving relationships have a lower death rate than single people, even people who have unhealthy lifestyles tend to live longer than those who lack social and community support,” says Professor Snyman.

According to a study conducted by Brigham Young University, spending time with those you love has an extremely positive effect on health and can cut the risk of an early death in half. The study attributes a person’s lengthened lifespan to high self-esteem due to his or her partner’s positive feedback, which lowers the chances of depression.

In addition, the study also showed that people will often adopt safer behaviours when they are coupled up. For example, a person is less likely to risk their life with smoking, binge drinking, reckless driving or dangerous eating habits if a loved one is depending on them.

2.    Love can help combat diseases

What’s better than being in love with your partner to help combat deadly diseases? Studies have shown that being in love can help combat asthma, arthritis, hay fever, nasal congestion and even a headache.

“A strong romantic support system protects the body from developing high levels of cortisol which is a stress hormone.This helps to protect from various diseases including cardiovascular diseases such as strokes, high blood pressure and ischaemic heart disease – three of the most deadly diseases,” says Professor Snyman.

3.    Love boosts your immune system ♥

Having love in your life might just save you from the flu. A recent study showed that a five-minute episode of feeling genuine care or compassion enhanced the whole immune system, causing a gradual increase in the release of immunoglobulin A (IgA), your body’s natural antibody against colds, flu and other invading germs.

Even watching movies about love, petting an animal and practicing selfless service for others has been shown to increase levels of IgA.

4.    Love helps you look younger ♥

That healthy glow from being in love isn’t a myth. Many studies indicate that people in happy relationships look physically younger than those who aren’t. “With the increasing blood flow to the skin, being in love can increase the supply of essential nutrients and oxygen to your skin cells, making you look healthier,” explains Professor Snyman.

5.    Love can keep you slim ♥

It is very common for people to lose weight when they start dating somebody. “Being in love causes your body to pump out a neurotransmitter called adrenaline, which acts as an appetite suppressant,” says Professor Snyman.

“Since all that adrenaline is keeping you alert, you are less likely to have late night food cravings or feel the need to nibble when you aren’t really hungry, which helps avoid putting on extra weight. Also, chances are that being in love will get you motivated to exercise more to look and feel your best for your partner,” he continues. 

6.    Love improves your mental wellbeing ♥

We all know that being in love makes people feel overjoyed, but it’s not just in our heads. People in love generally have increased energy, which makes them excited to discover new adventures and different hobbies.

“Loving and being loved helps to vaccinate you against anxiety. When you are in love the brain produces a chemical called dopamine, a feel-good stimulant that is responsible for feelings of bliss, optimism and patience,” says Professor Snyman.

“Infatuated people also produce a surplus of a chemical called oxytocin, the bonding hormone. This endorphin spreads a warm, internal flutter throughout the body when it is released during touch or physical intimacy,” he adds.

7.    Love improves self-confidence ♥

People in healthy relationships tend to be more confident in all areas of their life. It has been proven that getting married and staying married reduces depression in both men and women.

“Having a positive self-esteem comes from being validated and receiving affirmation that you have worth. With improved self-esteem, people in love are often more capable of achieving and maintaining their professional and personal goals in life,”  says Professor Snyman.

So before you roll you eyes at all the love struck people you are most likely to come across this Valentine’s Day, keep in mind that there are psychological and physical benefits to being in love.

The Making Of A Mother

By the time the Lord made mothers, He was into the sixth day working overtime. An Angel appeared and said "Why are you spending so much time on this one?" 


And the Lord answered and said, "Have you read the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not elastic; have 200 movable parts, all replaceable; run on black coffee and leftovers; have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappears when she stands up; have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart; and have six pairs of hands." 



The Angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands! No way!" said the Angel. 



The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem. It's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have!" 



"And that's on the standard model?" the Angel asked. 



The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes are to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head are to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can. And the third pair are here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word." 



The Angel tried to stop the Lord "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish." 



"But I can't!" The Lord protested, "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick AND can feed a family of six on a pound of hamburger and can get a nine year old to stand in the shower." 



The Angel moved closer and touched the woman, "But you have made her so soft, Lord." 



"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish." 



"Will she be able to think?" asked the Angel. 



The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason, and negotiate." 



The Angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like You have a leak with this model. I told You that You were trying to put too much into this one." 



"That's not a leak." the Lord objected. "That's a tear!" 



"What's the tear for?" the Angel asked. 



The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief, and her pride." 



The Angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything for this one. You even created the tear!" 



The Lord looked at the Angel and smiled and said, "I'm afraid you are wrong again. I created the woman, but she created the tear!"

A Sad Love Story :')

I have a boyfriend who grew up with me. His name is Jin. I always thought of him as a friend
until last year, when we went to a trip from a club. I found that I fell in love with him. Before that
trip was over, I took a step and confessed my love for him. And soon, we became a pair of
lovers, but we loved each other in different ways. I always concentrated on him only, but by
his side, there were so many other girls. To me, he was the only one, but to him, maybe I was just another girl…

“Jin, do you want to go watch a movie?” I asked.
“I can’t”
“Why? You need to study at home?” I felt disappointment grabbing me.
“No… I am going to meet a friend…

He was always like that. He met girls in front of me, like it was nothing. To him, I was just a girlfriend. The word ‘love’ only came out from my mouth. Since I knew him, I had never heard him say ‘I love you’ before. To us, there weren’t any anniversaries at all. He didn’t say anything from the first day and it continued till 100 days…200days… Everyday, before we say goodbye, he would just hand me a doll, everyday, without fail. I don’t know why…


Then one day…

Me: Um, Jin, I …
Jin: What…don’t drag, just say..
Me: I love you.
Jin: ……you….um, just take this doll and go home.
That was how he ignored my ‘three words’ and handed me the doll. Then he disappeared, like he was running away. The dolls I received from him everyday, filled my room, one by one. There were many…
Then one day came, my 15th year old birthday. When I got up in the morning, I pictured a party with him, and stranded myself in my room, waiting for his call. But… lunch passed, dinner passed… and soon the sky was dark… he still didn’t call. It was already tiring to look at the phone anymore. Then around 2am in the morning, he suddenly called me and woke me from my sleep. He told me to come out of the house. Still, I felt joy and I ran out happily. 
Me: Jin…
Jin: Here…take this…
Again, he handed me a little doll.
Me: What’s this?
Jin: I didn’t give it to you yesterday, so I am giving it to you now. I’m going home now, bye.
Me: Wait, wait! Do you know what today is?
Jin: Today? Huh?
I felt so sad, I thought he would remember my birthday. He turned around and walked away like nothing had happen. Then I shouted… “Wait…”
Jin: You have something to say?
Me: Tell me, tell me you love me…
Jin: What?!
Me: Tell me
I put my pathetic self behind and clung on to him. But he just said simple cold words and left.
“I don’t want to say…that I love someone so easily, if you are desperate to hear it, then find someone else.”
That was what he said. Then he ran off. My legs felt numb… and I collapsed to the ground. He didn’t want to say it easily… How could he…. I felt that… Maybe he is not the right guy for me…
After that day, I stranded myself at home crying, just crying. He didn’t call me, although I was waiting. He just continued handing me a little doll every morning outside my house. That’s how those dolls piled up in my room… everyday
After a month, I got myself together and went to school. But what made the pain resurface was that… I saw him on a street… with another girl… He had a smile on his face, one that he never showed me…as he touched the doll… I ran straight back home and looked at the dolls in my room, and tears fell… Why did he gave these to me… Those dolls are probably picked out by some other girls…In a fit of anger, I threw the dolls around. Then suddenly, the phone rang. It was him. He told me to come out to the bus stop outside my house. I tried to calm myself down and walked to the bus stop. I kept reminding myself that I am going to forget him, that… it’s going to end. Then he came into my sight, holding a big doll.
Jin: Jo, I thought you were pissed, you really came?
I couldn’t help hating him, acting like nothing had happen and joking around. Soon, he held out the doll as usual… 
Me: I don’t need it. Jin: What….why…
I grabbed the doll from his hands and threw it on the road.
Me: I don’t need this doll, I don’t need it anymore!! I don’t want to see a person like you again!
I spitted out all the words that were inside me. But unlike other days, his eyes very shaking.
“I’m sorry” He apologized in a tiny voice. He then walked over to the road to pick up the doll…
Me: You stupid! Why are you picking up the doll?! Just throw it away!!!

But he ignored me and just went to pick the doll. Then…

Honk~ Honk~
With a loud honk, a big truck was heading towards him.
“Jin! Move! Move away!” I shouted… But he didn’t hear me, he squatted down and picked up the doll.
“Jin, move!” HONK~!! “Boom!” That sound, so terrifying.
That’s how he went away from me. That’s how he went away without even opening his eyes to say one word to me.
After that day, I had to go through everyday with guiltiness and the sadness of losing him… And after spending two months like a crazy person… I took out the dolls.

Those were the only gifts he left me since the day we started going out. I remembered the days I spent with him and started to count the days… when we were in love…

“One…two… three…” That was how… I started to count the dolls…
“Four hundred and eighty four… four hundred and eighty five…” It all ended with 485 dolls.
I then started to cry again, with a doll in my arms. I hugged it tightly, then suddenly…

“I love you~, I love you~” I dropped the dolls, shocked

“I….lo..ve…you??” I picked up the dolls and pressed its stomach.
“I love you~ I love you~” It can’t be! I pressed all the dolls’ stomach as it piled on the side.
“I love you~”
“I love you~”
“I love you~” 
Those words came out non-stop. I…love you… Why didn’t I realize that….That his heart was always by my side, protecting me. Why didn’t I realize that he love me this much… I took out the doll under the bed and pressed it’s stomach, that was the last doll, the one that fell on the road. It had his blood stain on it. The voice came out, the on that I was missing so much.

“Jo…Do you know what today is? We’ve been loving each other for 486 days. Do you know what 486 is? I couldn’t say I love you…. Um… since I was too shy… If you forgive me and take this doll, I will say that I love you… everyday… till I die… Jo… I love you…”

The tears came flowing out of me. Why? Why? I asked god, why do I only know about all this now? He can’t be by my side, but he loved me until his last minute…

For that… and for that reason… to me… it became courage… to live a beautiful life ..

Karena kandungannya akan vitamin A yang begitu tinggi, tomat adalah makanan yang tepat untuk meningkatkan kemampuan penglihatan kamu. Tomat akan menjaga mata dari risiko penyakit rabun senja.

Favorite Fairytale~~

I read this fairytale right after I watched the Disney's Movie "The Princess And The Frog". I must admit that Disney's has been always doing a great job. Have you guys watched it? It's 2009 movie but still worth to watch :))

Well, I'm not going to talk about the movie, I wanna share my favorite fairytale...

Here we go....

The Frog-Prince

One fine evening a young princess put on her bonnet and clogs, and went out to take a walk by herself in a wood; and when she came to a cool spring of water, that rose in the midst of it, she sat herself down to rest a while. Now she had a golden ball in her hand, which was her favourite plaything; and she was always tossing it up into the air, and catching it again as it fell. After a time she threw it up so high that she missed catching it as it fell; and the ball bounded away, and rolled along upon the ground, till at last it fell down into the spring. The princess looked into the spring after her ball, but it was very deep, so deep that she could not see the bottom of it. Then she began to bewail her loss, and said, ’Alas! if I could only get my ball again, I would give all my fine clothes and jewels, and everything that I have in the world.’

Whilst she was speaking, a frog put its head out of the water, and said, ’Princess, why do you weep so bitterly?’ ’Alas!’ said she, ’what can you do for me, you nasty frog? My golden ball has fallen into the spring.’ The frog said, ’I want not your pearls, and jewels, and fine clothes; but if you will love me, and let me live with you and eat from off your golden plate, and sleep upon your bed, I will bring you your ball again.’ ’What nonsense,’ thought the princess, ’this silly frog is talking! He can never even get out of the spring to visit me, though he may be able to get my ball for me, and therefore I will tell him he shall have what he asks.’ So she said to the frog, ’Well, if you will bring me my ball, I will do all you ask.’ Then the frog put his head down, and dived deep under the water; and after a little while he came up again, with the ball in his mouth, and threw it on the edge of the spring. As soon as the young princess saw her ball, she ran to pick it up; and she was so overjoyed to have it in her hand again, that she never thought of the frog, but ran home with it as fast as she could. The frog called after her, ’Stay, princess, and take me with you as you said,’ But she did not stop to hear a word.

The next day, just as the princess had sat down to dinner, she heard a strange noise–tap, tap–plash, plash–as if something was coming up the marble staircase: and soon afterwards there was a gentle knock at the door, and a little voice cried out and said:

 ’Open the door, my princess dear,

  Open the door to thy true love here!

  And mind the words that thou and I said

  By the fountain cool, in the greenwood shade.’

Then the princess ran to the door and opened it, and there she saw the frog, whom she had quite forgotten. At this sight she was sadly frightened, and shutting the door as fast as she could came back to her seat. The king, her father, seeing that something had frightened her, asked her what was the matter. ’There is a nasty frog,’ said she, ’at the door, that lifted my ball for me out of the spring this morning: I told him that he should live with me here, thinking that he could never get out of the spring; but there he is at the door, and he wants to come in.’

While she was speaking the frog knocked again at the door, and said:

 ’Open the door, my princess dear,

  Open the door to thy true love here!

  And mind the words that thou and I said

  By the fountain cool, in the greenwood shade.’

Then the king said to the young princess, ’As you have given your word you must keep it; so go and let him in.’ She did so, and the frog hopped into the room, and then straight on–tap, tap–plash, plash– from the bottom of the room to the top, till he came up close to the table where the princess sat. ’Pray lift me upon chair,’ said he to the princess, ’and let me sit next to you.’ As soon as she had done this, the frog said, ’Put your plate nearer to me, that I may eat out of it.’ This she did, and when he had eaten as much as he could, he said, ’Now I am tired; carry me upstairs, and put me into your bed.’ And the princess, though very unwilling, took him up in her hand, and put him upon the pillow of her own bed, where he slept all night long. As soon as it was light he jumped up, hopped downstairs, and went out of the house. ’Now, then,’ thought the princess, ’at last he is gone, and I shall be troubled with him no more.’

But she was mistaken; for when night came again she heard the same tapping at the door; and the frog came once more, and said:

And when the princess opened the door the frog came in, and slept upon her pillow as before, till the morning broke. And the third night he did the same. But when the princess awoke on the following morning she was astonished to see, instead of the frog, a handsome prince, gazing on her with the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen, and standing at the head of her bed.

He told her that he had been enchanted by a spiteful fairy, who had changed him into a frog; and that he had been fated so to abide till some princess should take him out of the spring, and let him eat from her plate, and sleep upon her bed for three nights. ’You,’ said the prince, ’have broken his cruel charm, and now I have nothing to wish for but that you should go with me into my father’s kingdom, where I will marry you, and love you as long as you live.’

The young princess, you may be sure, was not long in saying ’Yes’ to all this; and as they spoke a gay coach drove up, with eight beautiful horses, decked with plumes of feathers and a golden harness; and behind the coach rode the prince’s servant, faithful Heinrich, who had bewailed the misfortunes of his dear master during his enchantment so long and so bitterly, that his heart had well-nigh burst.

They then took leave of the king, and got into the coach with eight horses, and all set out, full of joy and merriment, for the prince’s kingdom, which they reached safely; and there they lived happily a great many years.

Awesome holiday in Jogjakarta, Indonesia

akhirnya weekend juga!!!!!!!! :D
Weekend gini enaknya main dan Jogja bisa jadi pilihan yang oke kayanya..

Anyway, ngomongin soal Jogja I got an awesome holiday last August 2012. Agak basi sih but yeah I can still remember those moments clearly.

Let's carry on, ternyata Jogja emang surganya buat liburan! Terbukti dengan adanya pantai yang super-duper keren! (pasti langsung mikir Pantai Parangtritis -___-). No, it's not Pantai Parangtritis. Pantai ini ada di jejeran Gunung Kidul. Agak jauh dari Jogja sih emang tapi worth it kok. Trust me! Waktu tempuh yang diperluin sekitar 3 jam dari Malioboro. Awalnya kita bakal ngeliat pemandangan khas pedesaan tapi lama-lama makin sepi dan makin kering. Untuk nyari pom bensin pun sulit! Jadi usahakan untuk isi bensin dulu sebelumnya ;D
Pantai ini namanya Pantai Indrayanti. Mungkin udah ga begitu asing denger nama pantai yang satu ini, tapi buat yang belum tau pantai ini amat sangat recommended buat dikunjungi. Kenapa? Karena airnya yang biru dan dingin bikin mata segerrrrrrrr ditambah pasirnya yang putih cocok buat ngilangin penat. Selain itu, disana ada tenbing yang hampir sama kaya di Pantai Kuta, Bali.

Tapi sayang, ombaknya yang gede bikin pengunjung dilarang untuk renang. Jangan khawatir kita masih bisa nikmatin airnya yang dingin dipesisirnya kok. Dan ini malah bikin untung buat yang narsis to take picture as many as you can :P

Next, pernah coba Cave Tubing? Belum?
Hmmm...Karena nikmatin aliran sungai pake perahu karet terlalu mainstream, jadi Jogja punya tempat buat nikmatin aliran sungai yang ada didalam gua pake ban!!!! Seru dan menegangkan abiezzzzzz...

Gua Pindul salah satu gua yang punya aliran sungai didalamnya. Letaknya di
desa Bejiharjo, Karangmojo.  Disana pemandu bakalan cerita tentang sejarah Gua Pindul sambil narik kita kedalem gua. Agak serem juga karena kedalam airnya lebih dari 3 meter dan minim cahaya untuk waktu yang lumayan lama, antara 45-60 menitan. Bagian yang paling seru itu waktu kita liat stalaktit dan stalagmit yang masih aktif dan batu kristal amat sangat amazing banget. Selain itu kita juga bisa liat sarang kelelawar yang lumayan bikin worried karna jumlahnya yang cukup banyak.

Di akhir perjalanan, kita bakalan ditawarin untuk loncat dari ketinggian kira-kira 5 meter. But let me get this straight, lo bakalan nyesel kalo ga ambil tawaran ini. Cave tubing wouldn't be perfect without it, this is the most unforgetable part tho.

Well, let's move to Alun-Alun Kidul. That's my favorite spot at night in Jogjakarta. Menurut gue, sepeda hias di Alun-alun kidul emang paling oke. Selain dihias pake lampu warna-warni, kita juga disediain mp3 player yang bisa kita atur lagunya sesuka hati lol

Selain itu, disana juga ada pohon beringin yang gede banget. Konon, kalo kita bisa ngelewatin dua pohon beringin itu dengan mata tertutup maka semua keinginan kita akan terkabul, it's just a myth after all..

So, that was my holiday in Jogjakarta. The most amazing and unforgetable memories :)
